Are the strings truly random?

They use your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator with rejection sampling, so every character is equally likely.

How long should a token be?

Aim for at least 128 bits of entropy for secrets such as API keys, e.g. 22 characters from letters and digits. The entropy is shown as you change settings.

Are generated strings stored?

No. They are created in your browser and are never sent anywhere.
